De Hypertherm ohmic ring gebruik je bij de automaat toorts op de snijtafel. De ring klik je vast aan de cartridge en connect via een draadje met de torch height control. Voor elke snede wordt er door ohmic contact bepaald hoe hoog de toorts van het werkstuk komt.
