Argweld Backing Tape 80 Ampére, Low, is geschikt voor grote pijpdiameters, vaten en ketels. De aluminium tape ondersteunt de lasrups als deze nog vloeibaar is, houdt de las vlak en voorkomt druppelvorming. Dure en tijdrovende nabewerking zoals slijpen of beitsen wordt drastisch verminderd. Verder wordt het hete materiaal van de omgevingslucht afgeschermd waardoor oxidatie door zuurstof wordt beperkt. Glanzende lasnaden maakt polijsten overbodig.

In het midden van de tape is een geweven glasvezelband aangebracht die bestand is tegen eenzijdig lassen tot 80 Ampére, zonder chemische of metalurgische invloed op het smeltbad. In het midden van de glasvezelband is een rode draad ingeweven waardoor de tape gemakkelijk te positoneren is.
